Join MITRE and become part of a team that will provide technical systems engineering support to a variety of programs related to Law Enforcement, National Intelligence, and government Information Systems. We are looking for mission driven, team-focused software engineers to join us in supporting national Law Enforcement missions. You will work on some of the most challenging technical and programmatic issues facing this important national security sponsor.

Key Functions:
You will apply your image and signal processing and technical analysis expertise to support the evaluation of biometric image devices and determine if they meet or exceed sponsor established minimum quality and interoperability standards. You will lead a small team of technical staff to conduct technical evaluations, assess current evaluation techniques, and suggest and implement methodologies for improving evaluation processes. You will work with system vendors and subject matter experts to enhance the current state of biometric device testing of cutting-edge products to support future evaluation.

Required Qualifications:
Possess in-depth knowledge of image and signal processing or computer vision and be able to apply these techniques in evaluating and improving test methodologies of biometric images. Possess general knowledge of optics and image capture techniques and understand methods to detect image manipulation.

Possess strong technical communication skills (both verbal and written) and be able to apply these skills to convey technical details and image processing techniques to both technical and non-technical audiences. Be able to establish and grow relationships with representatives from both public and private sector entities.

Be able to shape the direction of a technical project and ensure the quality of technical and programmatic deliverables. Possess the ability to manage the financial aspects of a small project including performing cost estimates and ensuring delivery. Be able to oversee project staffing by collaborating with program division and technical center leadership to ensure that the right technical, programmatic, and management skills are present on the team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in biometrics, image or signal processing, sensing, semiconductor physics, optics, product testing and evaluation and/or statistical analysis.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS and 8 years related experience.
