Job Description:
This posting is to hire an experienced Manufacturing Integration Engineer to lead the AIM Photonics Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) program at the SUNY Polytechnic Institute. This position will be focused on manufacturing activities for silicon photonics technologies within SUNY Poly's 300mm fab.

 

Job duties include but are not limited to: lead integration activities for sustaining the core AIM Photonics MPW technology; leverage data systems (SPC, electrical data, inline metrology) to proactively address issues: champion improved manufacturability of the MPW process flow; perform industrial engineering analyses on capability, capacity, and cycle time; own (internally and externally) the MPW schedule, quality, and line performance; coordinate with vendors such as the mask house, dicing/packaging, and any outsourced processes; write reports, papers, and/or patents as appropriate; other reasonable duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:
B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent Engineering and/or Science discipline from a college or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization AND 9+ years relevant professional industry experience.

 

OR

 

M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent Engineering and/or Science discipline from a college or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization AND 6+ years relevant professional industry experience.

 

OR

 

Ph.D in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent Engineering and/or Science discipline from a college or University accredited by the USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization AND 3+ years relevant professional industry experience.

 

SUNY Poly is a multi-client, consortium environment, and the successful individual must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment, and be able to execute a variety of tasks on short notice is a must. Candidate must exhibit the ability to work independently and as a part of a multifaceted team, as required. The needs of the organization can change quickly and therefore the person hired for this position should be flexible and able to learn new topics quickly.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in one or more of the following topics is highly desired:

  • Process development experience in multiple sectors (LTH, RIE, INS, MTL, CMP, PLT, WET, RTP, ION, EPI)
  • Integration experience with non-CMOS technologies (MEMS, sensors, magnetics, photonics, etc)
  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing best practices
  • Ability to establish and lead informal teams
  • Demonstrated hands-on problem solver
