LEAD ENGINEER - PRINCIPAL ENGINEER - AEROSPACE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING - OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA

Who We Are:

The Aerospace Systems Engineering Section in Oklahoma performs R&D engineering projects tied to DoD aircraft subsystems, including avionics, propulsion, electrical & mechanical systems. Efforts include redesign, technology insertion, reliability & maintainability improvements, embedded software.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Develop solutions for DoD customer problems tied to aging aircraft and sustainment issues, to improve performance and prolong weapon system life
  • Guide a team of engineers to successfully develop solutions to engineering problems to benefit current and future customers
  • Advance and apply new technologies to solve real life problems that increase operational capabilities
  • Provide engineering expertise to lead teams in generating results for complex technical challenges
  • Support the expansion of technological capabilities leading to process and performance improvement in development activities

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Solve DoD aerospace/avionics problems with software and hardware designs, development, documentation, integration, and testing, modification, and sustainment objectives
  • Support proposal development and design presentations to clients
  • Oversee the integration of aircraft and mission systems avionics to include support equipment
  • Define requirements, architect, design, develop, and perform system engineering duties in the development of mechanical and electrical systems for Aerospace/aircraft applications
  • Lead a team of engineers to accomplish project goals. Prepare technical documentation
  • Prepare for and present solutions and approaches at internal and customer meetings and design reviews
  • Present and pursue ideas for internal research and development to aid in long term business objectives
  • Participate in new business development activities including identification of new business opportunities, proposal writing, budget estimating, and customer presentations.

 

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelors or a Masters with a 3.00 GPA in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering field
  • 11 years: experience as a system engineer or lead engineer for aircraft modernization/sustainment programs.
  • Experience in design, development and system integration test in the DoD Aerospace Industry
  • Ability and desire to be responsive to dynamic business and market conditions
  • Technical leadership and project management skills, including interface with clients
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required

Special Requirements:

Work assignment is in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
