MITRE is seeking a Communications/RF engineer to support the Armys Program Manager Tactical Network (PM TN) program. This person will be part of a team doing a variety of analysis on Army wide area tactical (RF) communications and related topics, including working with emerging communications systems to determine innovative approaches to improve performance and robustness, especially under Electronic Warfare (EW) attacks.

 

This position will require on-site support at Aberdeen Proving Ground, working alongside government subject matter experts, as well as other MITRE engineers and contractors. The candidate will work on a wide range of engineering, testing and acquisition challenges and will be involved with the development, acquisition, and testing of advanced technology to support wide area tactical Army communications networks which currently use a combination of terrestrial line-of-sight (LOS) and Beyond LOS(BLOS) radio communications, wideband Satellite Communications (SATCOM), and IP networking.

Required Qualifications:

  • The position requires a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
  • Posses 10-15 years of experience in communications engineering
  • The candidate should have a broad working knowledge of communications technologies such as modulation and coding, radio frequency (RF) propagation and channel characteristics, and signal processing, and specific knowledge of some, or all, of the following technical areas:
    • Wireless communications technologies
    • Software defined radios and cognitive radio techniques
    • Waveform design
    • Multicast routing protocols and IP networking
    • Satellite Communications (SATCOM)
    • RF amplifier chain and Antenna design
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS and 8 years related experience
