Control and Power Systems Sustaining Leader

As the Control and Power Systems Sustaining Leader team you will be the focal point between the team and their internal customers.  In this role, you will drive initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the team and interface with other functions to provide constructive coordination and prioritization of customer needs, functional processes, and cross-functional initiatives.
With your seasoned and deep understanding of the concepts, approaches and methodology used in engineering Change Management at the ALS Product Center you will be that critical feedback path to ensure the internal customer’s voice is heard and priorities are set in line with business needs for the team. 
Your deep expertise on the level of Subject Matter Expert of one of the following engineering disciplines: Mechanical Design, Electro-Mechanical Design, Printed Circuit Board (PCBA) design or Embedded Software Systems will be used in not only your understanding of the needs of the internal customer but also as you work with the team on executing the various projects.

As a Control and Power Systems Sustaining Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying, communicating and tracking the needs of the internal customers for the ALS Control and Power Systems technology team.
  • Elaborating proposals for internal customer needs, defining methodologies to solve issues and providing guidelines for projects to the functional groups on the team.
  • Submiting and processes change requests as needed using the ALS Baker Hughes change management system.
  • Coordinating with the functional groups within the ALS Control and Power Systems team to execute on the projects that bring the best value for the business.
  • Solving issues and develops new solutions requires new and innovative approaches. Has the authority to guide others in different approaches.
  • Coordinating with the functional groups within the team to develop and maintain a dashboard on the technical health and life cycle status of the product portfolio.
  • Reporting out to the team, and Product Line leadership the status of their work.


Requirements

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. Minimum of 5 additional years of experience in Operations.
  • Have experience working in an engineering capacity with internal customers such as Supply Chain Purchasing, Supply Chain Sourcing, Supply Chain Manufacturing, Quality, Reliability and Service Delivery.
  • Have working knowledge of Bill of Material Structures and interpreting /reviewing engineering assembly and fabrication documentation.
  • Being capable of evaluating technical requests and distilling them into Statement of Requirements (SOR).
  • Being capable of solving technical problem in their stated area of technical expertise.
  • Have oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical or electronics.
  • Experience in working with CAD Systems- SolidWorks
  • Experience with the Siemens TeamCenter PLM system.
