Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Web/Software Developer Lead to design software and lead a technical teams. Our team members are collaborative and supportive, which makes our team a pleasant place to work. We are located on Georgia Tech’s campus in Tech Square: an area that merges industry, academia, start-ups, and research institutions. Our team is looking for a smart, innovative development/task lead to join an established program of developers, designers, testers, and documentation experts.

This is a full-time, permanent position available, starting immediately. The primary work assignment would be as a software developer lead.

The candidate will:

● Deploy and configure development and production infrastructure necessary for building and hosting applications. This includes source code repository, web server, application server, and database servers.
● Utilize experiencewith authentication and role-based authorization to restrict access to content.
● Be responsible for software development and technical leadership on 1-2 mid-to-large systems.
● Migrate legacy content into a new open-source based system.
● Develop components using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, for presenting content on product pages.
● Implement new work-flow processes based on business processes.
● Implement system-to-system interfaces as web services.

Duties included software development, technical leadership, and mentoring of junior developers.

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist/Associate I

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields. .

Research Engineer/Scientist/Associate II

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields.  and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 plus years of experience as a programmer
  • Extensive experience designing and building web applications
  • Past experience with project management or strong interest in project/team management
  • Strong skills in Java, JavaScript and have worked with teams that utilitze mySQL and Angular

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge and experience with debuggers, profilers, and installers
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and OO design
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong planning, communication, and troubleshooting skills
  • Motivation to contribute to an impactful solution

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire
