Seeking a Systems Engineer with experience in real-time, heterogeneous, virtual and cloud computing environments to support efforts associated with the NSDC (National Space Defense Center) supporting the Enterprise Management Command and Control (ESBMC2 mission area)
Successful candidate will install, integrate and test COTS applications on system hardware as required by system design specifications. Candidate should be able to support activities through the entire development lifecycle and be able to support and understand mission requirements
Applicant will be responsible for developing documentation for specific installations and configurations necessary to support operations and ongoing support activities.
Candidate must be able to articulate customer requests and requirements to development teams to ensure customer expectations are met

The ideal candidate will be able to solve problems rapidly and will have excellent communication skills. This candidate will be expected to update or create new procedures to share knowledge with the larger team. Understanding of a broad spectrum of information technologies related to workstations, servers and networks is needed. Some travel is required and candidate must be able to adjust work schedule periodically to support program activities

Tasks will include systems design, systems integration, cyber security hardening, operations, and system maintenance. Individual will work with other engineers, customers and vendors in designing, configuring, integrating, modifying, upgrading, troubleshooting complex desktop and server solutions. Individual must have overall knowledge of all system and network administration tasks including managing user accounts, data backup, networking, security, disk management, software license management, etc

Perform other duties as assigned

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a Top Secret clearance updated within the last 5 years to start

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
Security+ CE and/or CISSP certification
System administration experience in supporting/managing various OS platforms such as Linux (SLES and Redhat), MS Windows (desktop and Server), or UNIX (Solaris 9/10)

Desired skills
RMF/JSIG experience (STIG) is desired.
Understanding of networks and switches.
Experience with system migration and vulnerability patching
LAN/WAN management experience
Patch management/deployment tools such as WSUS and Docker
Experience in a networked real-time and development environment.
Experience with configuring VMs, scripting, HP Webinspect, HBSS, various database applications, Cisco IOS, and MS Office applications including VISIO also desired.
Any additional vendor provided advanced technical training and/or certifications.
Any cloud experience would be beneficial,

Must demonstrate the following abilities:
- Linux scripting
- Knowledge / experience with Cisco Routing and Switching
- Experience with switching and routing with specific knowledge on TCP/IP, IP configuration, peer-to-peer networking, IP addressing & subnets
- Experience in information security infrastructure, and JSIG implementations
- Virtual network switching and routing
- Good documentation and technical writing skills to maintain system(s) configurations and network diagrams
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory Server Administration
