System Administrators collaborate with a diverse team to support fast-paced, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you are able to develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.
This role will include, but is not limited to tasks like the following:
Collaborate with partners to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions consisting of hardware and operating system technologies
Integrate and partner with programs to solve complex infrastructure problems
Assure a high level of reliability and performance through systems monitoring and infrastructure management
Respond to online service requests from users
Ensure server and application compliance with security and performance requirements (DFARS, RMF, NIST Cybersecurity Framework)
Install, Convert, and upgrade systems
Develop, revise, and maintain technical and operational documentation (including procedures) to continually improve our computing environments
Maintain and grow your technical competence in multiple areas (such as Windows, Linux, virtualization, User Authentication, DNS, NFS, system imaging/build automation)
Assist in developing the overall performance and capability of your technical team through mentoring and knowledge sharing
Potential for domestic or international travel
This role requires a US Dept of Defense Secret Clearance to access classified work areas, and any offer will be contingent upon the successful granting of an interim US Secret Clearance. If the applicant of choice does not possess an active Clearance, they will be required to apply for and obtain an Interim Secret Clearance prior to setting their start date. If the interim Secret clearance is not granted, then the offer will be rescinded.
Capped Budget relocation is available to the selected applicant if they are eligible per company policy & the amount will be discussed at the appropriate stage of the hiring process.
This position can be filled as either a G06 or G07 level role depending on the qualification of the selected candidate. Required Skills & Experience:
0-2 years of Systems Administration experience, specifically with Linux operating systems, as that will be the main focus of the role.
Ability to obtain required Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of hire date
Desired Experience:
Experience with Windows Server Operating Systems (OS) is a plus.
2+ years of experience in IT Administration is preferred
Ability to collaborate effectively
Active Directory and group policy management
Data storage and data backup technologies
Virtual computing technologies
Basic scripting in Linux and/or Windows
Good communication skills
Good troubleshooting skills
Teamwork and collaboration skills
Experience DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Backup and Recovery enterprise suites
Experience with PC and/or Server architectures and troubleshooting methods and be able to assist in developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems
Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours, may require less than 10% some travel.
Required Education:
BS/BA Degree in a professional technical field preferred. BS in a non-technical field must be combined with significant and directly applicable experience in IT Systems administration.
