The Storage & Data Protection (SDP) Manager will lead and manage a team of Storage & Data Protection Systems Technologists responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of classified Raytheon & Missile Defense (RMD) storage and data protection computing environments. These environments include a heterogeneous mix of computer, server, and networked hardware and software platforms. As a leader within the Program Infrastructure Technologies work center, the SDP Manager is expected to embody, exemplify and encourage outstanding values and behaviors, which are paramount to the candidates success. The SDP Manager will interact with users, Program leadership, Cybersecurity professionals, solution architects and other key stakeholders and will also be responsible for the design, acquisition and allocation of systems resources. Responsible for proactive hiring, assignment, performance management, retention, and development of personnel via process of developing and setting goals, coaching, mentoring, providing resources, opportunities to showcase talent, and encouraging participation in all aspects of operations, and projects within Raytheon.

This position will require occasional business travel, from its main work location of Tewksbury, MA. Capped budget relocation will be available for the selected applicant if they are eligible per company policy. Budget amount is variable and will be discussed at the appropriate stage of the hiring process.

This role will be filled as a Manager I or Manager II, Systems Administration (RMD DT Salary grade G09 or G10), and the final determination will be at the judgement and discretion of the hiring manager after interviewing the qualified slate of applicants.

This role will require a US Secret Security Clearance, except in rare cases, only US Citizens are eligible to obtain Security Clearances.

The Storage & Data Protection Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Leading and managing a team of SDP Technologists ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Raytheon and customer information
  • Providing technical leadership for storage administrators whose duties include set up, administration and day-today support, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance
  • Performing leadership and managerial duties for team members, including but not limited to, Performance and development assessments, Career planning, Resource management, Timecard approval, Personal-Time-Off (PTO) approval and management, Talent interviewing and hiring
  • Working with team members to maintain support plans for managed systems and projects
  • Developing and monitoring policies, standards, processes and goals for direct reports
  • Coordinating storage administrative support for training development/evaluations and operations and sustainment plans
  • Developing team training plans and participating in technical communities
  • Participating in Change Request reviews, to include participating in Change Management boards at multiple program levels
  • Coordinating technical and process document reviews and resolving system administration, engineering and integration issues
  • Participating and leading technical meetings with team members and other program personnel, and representing the organization in functional area matters
  • Upholding company values and behaviors

Minimum Required Skills / Certifications:
  • Must be able to obtain a final Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance
  • 6+ years of leadership or technical experience directly related to System Administration, Information Technology or related technical discipline, with increasing responsibilities
  • Knowledge of technical, analytical, and problem solving activities, as well as the ability to perform reviews of technical processes and solutions involving storage and data protection
  • Experience with network attached storage and protocols including NFS and CIFS
  • Ability to provide architectural strategy, approaches, and guidance on technical and process improvements for storage and data protection
  • Demonstrated basic business fundamentals
  • Experience in Project Leadership, Management, or Project management
  • Organizational skills to include: attention to detail, time management and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours, must be able to travel 10% and able to lift 15 pounds
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field or equivalent experience is required

Highly Desired Skills / Certifications:
  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance with investigation date completed within the past 6 years
  • Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, and/or DoD/RMF guidelines
  • Experience with handling and working with classified information
  • Knowledge of Network Appliance storage solutions
  • Knowledge of enterprise data protection tools such as Net Backup, Commvault, Legato or Rubrik
  • Experience with requirements gathering, planning, and managing deployment, installation, maintenance and upgrade efforts, over multiple geographic sites
  • Experience managing Information Technology services and support in a real time operational environment
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams
  • Industry certifications including but not limited to: Security +, CISSP, ITIL, ISC2, PMP etc.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, managing budgets, and staffing

The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
