This role is within the Systems Supply Chain and Technology Enabling SSC Organization.

As the Supply Chain R&D Engineer, you will be responsible for but not limited to: 


  • This engineer will be required to work closely with the Business Unit design teams and the supplier ecosystem to understand Intel's component needs and integrate those needs with the best supplier solution in the broader component ecosystem.
  • These job responsibilities will span the component life cycle from component initial design through High Volume Manufacturing (HVM). There will be a significant emphasis on component design for quality, manufacturing, sustainability, and cost.
  •  Component characterization and qualification to support the component integration into an Intel product.
  • Demonstrate high levels of collaboration within SSC commercial and engineering teams as well as with the business unit and our preferred suppliers.
  • Will collaborate with suppliers to thoroughly understand the component ecosystem supplier capabilities and work to drive seamless integration of the solutions into Intel products.
  • The engineer must demonstrate knowledge of the model-based problem-solving design of experiments experience with the evaluation of supplier quality systems and how suppliers leverage process control to manage the quality of outgoing components.
  • Explores and benchmarks emerging technology in the industry.
  • Contributes to future technology definition and requirements.
  • Defines the technical requirements for supplier selection.
  • Works together with the supplier to define the component requirements that will meet product quality, reliability, cost, yield, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Drives supplier process window validation activities on critical process modules throughout stages of development.
  • Drives supplier improvements on quality, reliability, yield, and cost.
  • Develops a strategy to resolve a wide range of difficult and complex problems. Able to establish project milestones and manage a project through those milestones.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must possess at least one of the following degrees plus the years of experience determined for each degree in the areas specified below.

1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant Engineering field with 6+ years of experience.

2. Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant Engineering field with 4+ years of experience.

3. Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or another relevant Engineering field with 2+ years of experience.

  • Experience required:
    • ASIC or IC component engineering design
    • Manufacturing packaging assembly and design
    • System design architecture
    • Influence and collaboration within the organization across organizations and with suppliers

  • This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supply Chain experience
  • IP, Pre/Post Silicon Design Verification, manufacturing process, or packaging technology.
  • High levels of collaboration both internal to the company and with external suppliers.
