The Worldwide Developer Relations team is looking for an Inventory Control Analyst. We're seeking a creative problem solver with a no-stone-unturned mentality, to assist with growing our inventory intelligence. This role will have a combination of business insight and technical knowledge, used to develop and deliver reporting and analysis enabling rapid decision-making. You'll work to analyze the thousands of apps we receive every day to understand trends and make recommendations for operational optimization based on those findings.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years proven experience in a data analytics, inventory management, or supply chain analyst role
  • Tableau, SQL, Javascript, and experience with advanced data analysis tools (R, Python, or similar)
  • Solid experience with databases, query/reporting tool
  • Deep understanding of the App Store and iOS development ecosystem and capabilities
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work effectively to perform assigned tasks in a timely manner under tight deadlines
  • Great interpersonal skills and the ability to present complex data analysis to internal and external customers


In close collaboration with data, business, and quality analysts, and workforce management, you'll utilize deep understanding of our app submission inventory to reduce wait times for developers while ensuring the top-notch quality Apple stands for. You will often be tasked with finding the "unknown" and identifying bottlenecks and segments of inventory that affect our processing or policies, assess the impact, and propose a solution. As the authority for our inventory, you will suggest new operations strategies, policies, and tools improvements, all in service of improving the developer experience.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Report inventory status, changes, and trends

Develop, maintain, and own robust reporting metrics that help to guide the business and measure success

Detect any operation gaps or trends needing immediate action

Mine complex and extensive databases for new information on the makeup of our inventory

Support leadership meetings with data, prepare and present findings to process owners and senior
management, facilitate development and prioritization of key improvement projects

Develop optimization strategies including inventory, queue, and quality indices, capacity modeling, and work routing logic

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree preferred
