Job Description

The Integrated Electronic Warfare (IEW) Research Engineer in the Test Engineering Division (TEN) will work with teams of researchers developing IEW suites for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) applications. Our teams work the complete IEW system life cycle, including initial system specification and design, suite integration, testing, and data analysis. TEN IEW research supports the US Air Force in FMS applications. Our IEW research aims to integrate the function of on-aircraft federated EW systems, avionics, and data links, to provide better overall aircraft self-protection suite performance, improved pilot situational awareness, and embedded training function.

Job Duties:

  • Provide systems engineering support in the development of IEW systems
  • Debug and test of IEW systems
  • Execute data analysis for IEW systems flight and chamber tests
  • Develop test and data analysis tools for IEW systems
  • Develop, decompose and allocate sponsor requirements into system design, architecture, and data interfaces of hardware and software components
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist I

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.

Research Engineer/Scientist II

  • A Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelors degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Having knowledge of or experience with Python, or similar scripting language

Candidates currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree with a graduation date of December 2020 and skills relevant to this position will be considered

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with embedded software lifecycle management and HITL testing
  • Experience with git-based configuration management systems
  • Experience with EW and Avionics Systems architecture, function, and interface
  • Experience with relevant interfaces, including MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet, serial, discrete, and analog interfaces

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire
