The Instrumentation R&D Team is responsible for developing technologies, methodologies and instrumentation for the characterization, the calibration and the validation of Apple's products. The solutions we design are used during New Product Introduction (NPI).

As an Instrumentation Engineering Program Manager (EPM), you will partner with the instrumentation engineering team and the multi-functional EPMs for the deployment of an effective measurement system that includes test methodology, hardware, software, instrument and fixture design. In this role you will work closely with several HW Design groups to ensure the success of the current and future Apple products. This is a technically challenging program management position. You will work collaboratively with diverse functional teams to enable the Instrumentation R&D teams to deliver high quality products on a predictable and dynamic schedule.

Key Qualifications

  • ABOUT YOU
  • - 3-5+ years of industry experience taking products (preferably portable consumer electronics devices) all the way from concept design and architecture definition, through execution, including engineering development and validation to ramping and shipping.
  • - 3-5+ years of program and project management experience.
  • - Ability to work well in a reciprocal, highly multi-disciplinary and rapidly changing environment.
  • - Capacity to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience.
  • - Proficient in setting up project schedules and work breakdown structures.
  • - Driven, independent, and proactive. You have excellent communication and presentation skills and are able to craft high quality presentation material.
  • - Excellent leadership skills and ability to influence and encourage team members.
  • - Experience with rapid development cycles; remain flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty.
  • - Good fundamental knowledge and problem solving skills in engineering.
  • - Must be able to travel up to 20%.

Description
- Utilize your STEM background and experience in successfully taking products from the conceptual stage all the way to ramp.
- Lead a broad multi-functional team of Electrical, Mechanical and Software and engineers across the full product design and development lifecycle, from early prototyping efforts through station architecture, design, development, support of engineering validation builds.
- Responsible for recognizing, evaluating and communicating issues and risks that affect broad teams.
- Facilitate good communication and offer multiple levels of status across a wide spectrum audience from individual contributors to executive management. You will identify and resolve roadblocks for the team (secure early prototypes/lab time, secure specific resources...), enabling them to focus on engineering development. In addition, you will drive day to day program activities to meet overall program schedule and objectives for our development projects.

BS/MS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
