Detailed Job Description

The Department of Electrical and Microelectronic Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology invites applications from candidates in the area of robotics. Appointments to these tenure-track positions will be at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or a closely related field, with specialization in the area of robotics, and must have published in refereed publications based on their dissertation and any subsequent post-doctoral work. Candidates must have prior teaching experience; a potential for establishing and conducting sponsored research; satisfactory written and oral communication skills; and ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the university's continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism and individual differences. Faculty responsibilities include teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, conducting sponsored research programs, and providing service to the university community.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD. in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or a closely related field, with specialization in the areas of robotics
  • Refereed publications based on their dissertation and any subsequent post-doctoral work.
  • Satisfactory written and oral communication skills.
  • Prior teaching experience
  • Potential for establishing and conducting sponsored research
  • Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college’s continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.
