Job Description

The Advanced Concepts Lab is seeking a well-rounded Information Systems Architect to work primarily on research projects. This position will take responsibility for the design, procurement, building, and deployment of various types of systems for sponsored research under the mentoring of a senior systems architect. These systems vary in size, composition, function, and requirements. Many of these systems involve Microsoft Windows domains, so strong skills in Microsoft operating systems administration (both server and desktop) is needed. Additionally, many of these systems will utilize Red Hat Enterprise Linux in the environment, so a strong skill-set of administration of a Linux environment is also needed.

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate I

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Security, and related degrees.

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate II

  • A Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Security, and related degrees and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Security, and related degrees and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Security, and related degrees.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of networking and network security
  • Experience working federal government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • The candidate with DoD 8140-M.
  • Certification of a Security+ and/or a CISSP.

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance upon hire
