This position is for an Information Assurance Engineer working for Lockheed Martin Enterprise Business Services, Corporate Information Security, Network Security Engineering (EBS, CIS, NSE).


This CIS Network Security Engineering position supports Business Area and EBS network service offerings, overall enterprise-wide network evolution strategies, and enterprise network technical standards.

Primary service area responsibilities include Internet Gateway network security services and enterprise and business area wide area networks (LMN, LMI, GVN, HiWAE, etc). The optimal candidate for this role has the ability to produce creative/outside-the-box design solutions in assigned domains that can be implemented in accordance to both cost and schedule, and also meet all demands of a wide and diverse customer base

Responsibilities also include but are not limited to:
- Develop and/or review network security design following CIS standards and processes. Successfully develop technical assessments based upon analysis and trade studies
- Proactive identification and resolution of security obstacles/issues affecting network engineering and deployments. Work with LMC business areas to understand network future needs
- Work with customers, vendors and suppliers in exploration of technologies, services, and products to identify candidates for further exploration and development.
- Lead engineering design and development, prototyping, COTS evaluation (products and services), trade study analysis, for new or changing services
- Lead proposal and presentation of concepts for new or changing services to leadership as well as peers. Lead technical strategic planning of general and broad future enterprise Network areas including those, which may introduce new service areas
- Directly perform as leading SME for significant subset of network services. Carry out all specific-service lead architect responsibilities for those disciplines
- Provide mentoring and/or guidance to less senior technical professionals

Basic Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with Next-Generation firewall technologies

- Network Technology experience: Protocols, Routing, WAN, LAN, Wireless, Network service providers, encryption, management

- Previous experience in participating in technical reviews

- Experience with enterprise network environments and network gateway sustainment and design

- Ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance

Desired skills
- Current active DoD Secret security clearance

- Knowledge of risk-based network security engineering and threat modeling

- Knowledge of standard engineering processes

- Experience with strategy and requirements development

- Demonstrated experience with Palo Alto Networks, Check Point or Juniper Networks HW/SW/Virtual firewall products

- Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Cloud-based networking technologies

- Familiarity with object-oriented concepts and secure programming practices

- Scripting experience and knowledge

- Experience working with Data Center and Cloud-based Environments

- Experience with Industrial Control Systems and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) experience

- Demonstrated experience with Proxy Server technologies

- Demonstrated experience with SSL and IPSEC VPN technologies

- Demonstrated experience with DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management Systems – preferably Infoblox

- Experience with Unix/Linux Operating Systems

- Experience with IPv6 network technologies

- CISSP Certification

- Demonstrated experience with F5 Big-IP Technologies (Local Traffic Manager, Global Traffic Manager, Advanced Firewall Manager, Access Policy Manager, or Application Security Manager)

- Experience with applied cryptography, cyber forensics, and penetration testing

- Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability and willingness to deliver large group presentations

- Proven effective teaming and interpersonal skills
