Job Description

Come and join Intel Module Repair (IMR) at Intel's Ocotillo Campus in Chandler, AZ as a Development Engineer Chiller Specialist. IMR offers engineering assistance and technical expertise to design, repair, and refurbish semiconductor equipment parts to provide a high quality, cost effective solution for our manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing of repair and refurbishment of Refrigeration Systems (Chillers, Heat Exchangers) used to support semiconductor equipment to deliver significant factory cost savings.
  • Dividing time between research, software development, hands-on lab work, and documentation.
  • Owning repair development project life cycle through implementation, including physical module teardowns and rebuilds, determination of failure modes, development of test validation, training of personnel, documentation, as well as ongoing sustaining, troubleshooting/failure analysis, and continuous improvement.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in any Engineering field (Mechanical Engineering with HVAC Emphasis is preferred).
  • (Bachelor's) 3+ years of engineering experience in HVAC operations (with direct responsibilities involving maintenance, repair, or designing mechanical components for refrigeration units, such as chillers, heat exchangers, and compressor systems).
  • (Master's) 2+ years of the same experience described previously.
  • 1+ year of working on semiconductor refrigeration units, including but not limited to SMC, Shinwa and TEL.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems, components troubleshooting, control systems design, or test validation programming.
  • Experience in Mechanical Design with demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Experience with structured problem solving and project management.
  • EPA 608 I and II certification, or equivalent.
