ICAM Engineer - ICL

Job Description

The primary work assignment would be as ICAM engineer for a large health systems integration project and other government related projects. Focus is currently on the secure sharing of information between state, local, and federal agency information systems in the public safety and health domain. Agencies often are autonomous and have unique IT architectures, legacy IT infrastructure, unique ICAM systems, and unique security policies and procedures. GTRI serves as the principal architect and integrator and provides design and implementation services.

We are looking for a subject matter expert (SME) in Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) with 5-10 years of experience in design and implementation of enterprise identity management solutions based on COTS and/or open source product offerings. Position will be focused on the implementation of a consistent, secure, easy to use, standards-based single sign-on authentication and authorization solution across multiple independent applications and user profiles.

Education & Length of Experience

Research Scientist II

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

Senior Research Scientist

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and four (4) years of relevant full time experience.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have knowledge of ICAM standards, policies, frameworks, best practices, technologies, and existing COTS and open source solution implementations.
  • Practical experience with implementation of large-scale enterprise-wide identity management solutions across a multi-vendor environment.  
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills are necessary.

Specific skills and experience in one or more of the following: 

  • PKI,
  • SAML
  • ABAC
  • PBAC
  • OpenID Connect
  • NIST SP 800-63
  • SailPoint
  • Active Directory
  • Oracle Identity Manager

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong relationships with vendors, standards bodies, government agencies, and initiatives related to federal/state/local/tribal secure information sharing and focus on national ICAM efforts and ICAM federation is a plus.
  • CISSP, CISA certifications are a plus but not required.

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
