Apple's Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) Communications team is seeking a Senior Communications Program/Project Manager to implement and oversee industry-best communications processes and practices and lead key communications projects for internal and external audiences. This position works with internal partners across Apple and the People Team to develop, produce, and execute digital communications for employees and coordinate the execution of external, public-facing publications.

This position is on site in Cupertino CA, or potentially Austin TX

Key Qualifications

  • Deep subject matter expertise in communications project management for internal and/or external marketing & communications as well as a working understanding of engagement metrics
  • Ability to drive projects to successful completion whether working solo or with large, cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing creative teams (design & writing) and the development process - preferably in a marketing or advertising agency setting
  • Experience planning multi-channel communication campaigns including ability to write program and project briefs, creating comms timelines and achievements, and bringing partners along with updates
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills; ability to draft content for employee emails, internal/external websites, executive Keynote presentations, and apply data analysis to metrics-driven storytelling
  • Ability to build and send emails in Composer and Direct Mail
  • Ability to pull and manage email lists
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with active-listening skills
  • Excellent planning, organization and implementation skills
  • Structured/analytical thinker with exceptional attention to detail
  • Innovative, with a critical/creative thinker mindset
  • Demonstrated success in managing international collaborations, particularly with localization teams
  • Experience in interacting with and influencing all levels of management
  • Able to work independently, work a flexible schedule, face change and ambiguity enthusiastically
  • High proficiency with Apple applications including Keynote, Pages, and Numbers


You will have a demonstrated track record of building communication strategies, calendars, and quarterly planning. Must be able to execute at all stages of communication campaigns and related projects from concept to completion. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, ability to create effective keynotes, and write and edit in accordance with Apple style and tone. You will be a "yes, and" driver, doer, and collaborator who is strategic, proactive, highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-moving, complex environment. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely is a requirement

We are a highly collaborative team and you will work extensively with I&D program managers as well as partner's from other cross-functional groups across Apple. You will demonstrate success working both independently and with a team across many disciplines. Success in the role will be largely dependent on being skilled in partner management, leading through influence and ambiguity, and driving quickly to deliver results in fast-paced work environment
- Set strategy and manage communications projects and launches at once
- Oversee development of end-to-end communications with an eye for employee experience
- Advise People functions and partners by recommending the best communication approach, method and tools for their programs
- Select the most beneficial communication methods depending on audience and desired outcomes
- Partner with internal and external resources to ensure alignment of messaging and coordination of processes for timely execution
- Provide frequent and clear communications regarding project status to key partners while raising potential issues or key decisions needed to ensure successful project delivery
- Produce or oversee the production of the assets needed to support each program
- Review past projects and results to identify wins/takeaways for business process improvements and influence internal change management
- Ensure key data are collected, understood and acted upon appropriately

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree required, 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent. MBA or other advanced degree relevant to Marketing and Communications preferred
