The WLE team proactively seeks and applies innovative, customer - focused solutions for superior mission support and system analysis from concept to disposal for new and legacy, domestic and international programs. The WLE team is comprised of product support, which includes the following disciplines: Reliability, System Safety, Life Cycle, and Supportability.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Human Systems Integration Engineer (HSI), you will be involved in every aspect of the system design, development, and sustainment.
Develop requirements for the system
Human Systems Integration expert on the systems design team
Collaborate with engineers of every discipline to ensure the end users needs are met
Occasional public speaking required.
Through the product development stage, the HSI engineer provides continuous assessment and input to the design changes that arise, and involvement in engineering changes to ensure the integrity of the human performance (operator, maintainer and sustainment) of the integrated system and personnel.
U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
Minimum 6 years Human Systems Integration engineering experience with hardware.
Experience with military systems and human systems Integration design procedures and standards including MIL-STD-1472 and MIL-HDBK-46855.
US Citizenship
Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline
Desired Skills:
8 years Human Systems Integration engineering experience with hardware.
Knowledge of design criteria for control panel layout; anthropometry; workspace layout, illumination & noise; equipment labeling; design-for-maintainability; human safety; and user-computer interface design.
Proficiency and experience in all domains of HSI: Manpower, Personnel, Training, Human Factors Engineering, Occupational Health, Survivability, Habitability, and Environment.
Knowledge of, and experience with the Department of Defense Acquisition System.
Ability to plan, implement, document, and present the results of technical military system HSI design assessments.
Existing Secret or Top Secret Clearance
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
