Job Description

This job is for a full time research faculty position in the Sensor Intelligence and Visualization Division within the Electro-Optical Systems Laboratory (EOSL) at Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI). This is a "Dev-Ops" position; performing research/development while being responsible for modifying the HPC operational environment. Responsibilities include the utilization of High Performance Computing (HPC) assets to conduct modeling, simulation and analysis of EW Systems as well as developing innovative solutions for EO/IR algorithms to support Electronic Warfare (EW) research.

Education & Length of Experience

- Research Engineer/Scientist I; A Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, or related disciplines.

- Research Engineer/Scientist II; A Master’s degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, or related disciplines and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, A Doctoral degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, or related disciplines.

Required Minimum Qualifications

- 1-6 years of relevant work experience
- Familiarity with Linux administration, particular Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to explain technical ideas to non-IT personnel.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a dynamic team environment.

- A Security+ certificate (or be able to obtain it within three months of date of hire).

- Familiarity with system design and architecture.

Candidates should also meet at least some of the following qualifications and be willing and able to learn the other skills:

- Experience with provisioning software (ideally Ansible or Puppet).
- Experience with Bash and Python scripting.

- Experience with RMF.

- Experience with Active Directory.

- Experience with Spacewalk and Cobbler.

- Experience with configuration management tools

- Experience with HPC software such as Son of Grid Engine (SGE).

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
