Role Number:200245673

We are seeking an enthusiastic, methodical engineering manager to own hardware test, verification, and validation from the sub-system level up to the full-system integration level. This is a management role responsible for managing the verification engineers and the team's interfaces with other inter-disciplinary test teams on the program. There will be significant opportunities to influence the scope of the team's responsibilities, and its approach to test planning, execution, and reporting.

The Hardware System Verification and Validation Team is responsible for leading the verification and validation (V&V) of a complex, mechatronic autonomous technology hardware system. We maintain and execute test suites, analyze test coverage, develop test automation tools, and establish methodologies for results analysis and reporting. This enables us to measure and track convergence as the team iterates design maturity. Additionally, our team supports and advises the design of test platforms across the program and has significant hands-on involvement during bring-up, verification, and debug.

Our ideal candidate is eager to maximize the use of state-of-the-art requirements and testing toolchains for hardware and embedded software (Polarion/TestRail/Tableau), scripting languages (Python/C) as well as ticket systems (JIRA) and planning tools to establish lightweight, high value V&V workflows and solutions across our organization. Their extensive test automation and automated results analysis experience will allow us to consistently deliver highly reliable, secure, and robust hardware systems to development teams.

There will be significant emphasis on cross-functional outreach and leadership, achieved through working with engineering teams to provide them V&V solutions. Developing strong credibility and rapport with other technical and non-technical teams is also a must. You should be comfortable using presentations as means of communication and persuasion and experienced in tailoring the narrative based on your audience and desired outcome.

Key Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Engineering or CS, with experience in Electronics, Mechatronics or Embedded Systems preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in multi-disciplinary products and engineering fields
  • Expert in verification and validation methodologies with plenty of hands on experience
  • Superior written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Experience in testing large, distributed architectures and with significant wiring
  • Expert in requirements, decomposition, traceability, and verification (Polarion, DOORS, JAMA, TestRail, Team Center, Jira, Confluence)
  • High degree of knowledge and comfort in traversing up and down levels of system abstraction - from abstract functional capabilities to detailed implementation level hardware and software
  • Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software development processes in order to approach problems from each perspective and anticipate unique needs
  • Experience in working with or leading complex embedded software projects (C, C++, Python, Perl) as well as server based database architectures preferred
  • Experience in hierarchical design modeling (MagicDraw, Cameo, Rhapsody, Matlab, Simulink) is desirable

Description
Manage highly interdisciplinary hardware verification and validation (V&V) team
Own hardware test, verification, and validation from the sub-system level up to the full-system level
Establish the team as a center of excellence for test planning, execution, and reporting
Identify program wide V&V coverage gaps and strategize solutions
Act as a solutions consultant for V&V and testing needs across the program
Orchestrate test bench development, build, bring-up, and test execution
Efficiently and effectively drive issue triage on highly utilized prototype systems
Feed test results back into system design by working directly with engineering groups
Contribute to strategies for V&V adjacent topics (e.g. Build For Test, fault detection, debug)
