The Test Equipment and Environments Center (TE&EC) is within the Systems Integration & Test directorate at RMD. The Test Equipment and Environments Center (TE&EC) includes all of the engineering disciplines responsible for systems design & test on all Raytheon Missile Defense (RMD) products. Our engineers are responsible for all elements of the development lifecycle for test including: test requirements, test system design, flight simulations, hardware-in-the-loop, computer-in-the-loop, advanced engineering prototyping technology, flight operations for manned and unmanned vehicles, environmental testing, environmental characterization and engineering laboratory management. We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world.

The Test Environments Center (TE&E) is seeking an individual with educational and professional experience in the development and implementation of FPGA and SoC programmable logic for communications and/or data processing applications. The individual will be responsible for the development, implementation, and utilization of HDL and hardware to interface with the weapon subsystems in a way that provides an operationally relevant stimulus to allow for weapon software development integration.


Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Work in a team environment, on diverse projects and receive direction from his/her lead.
  • Provide development support throughout product lifecycle, from initial concept to acceptance delivery to maintenance.
  • Work in accordance with the Systems Integration and Test directives and processes to perform product design, development, implementation and maintenance.
  • FPGA subject matter expert, key player in helping to define the digital aspects of a product
  • Developing technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity moved from Qualifications we value
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of (10) ten or more years of prior relevant experience developing firmware for FPGAs using VHDL or Verilog
  • Requires previous work experience in Xilinx, Altera, Lattice or Microsemi programmable devices
  • Requires previous work experience using HDL simulation tools Mentor ModelSim/Questa or NCSim
  • Requires experience using synthesis tools including Synplify and vendor tools including Xilinx ISE/Vivado, Altera Quartus or Microsemi Libero
  • Requires (5) five or more years of experience in a technical leadership role moved from qualifications we value

The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:
  • Experience working in multi-disciplined teams
  • Working knowledge of cost and schedule analysis
  • Experience supporting full lifecycle development from requirements through integration and product sell-off
  • Working knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols like RS-422, LVDS, AXI, PCIe, UART, SPI, I2C, etc.
  • Experience with embedded System on Chip (SOCs)
  • Experience with embedded device security
  • Experience working with Agile and/or DevOps frameworks
  • Experience in high speed interfaces such as SRIO, JESD204, Aurora or GigE
  • Experience with timing constraints
  • Working knowledge of C/C++ and/or in computer scripting language such as Shell/Perl/Python
  • Experience and knowledge developing requirements for FPGA products. Understanding of computer architecture and computer hardware optimization techniques
  • Knowledge and experience with configuration management tools such as Synergy, Subversion or git
  • Working knowledge/course work of radar, signal & image processing, digital communications, control theories, estimation theory and/or electro optics
