The Electro-Optical Hardware in the Loop (EO HWIL) Department is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer II with strong design, development, and integration skills to join our team.

The EO HWIL Department has the responsibility to provide, develop, and maintain engineering development Test Environments (TEn) that operate real-time and closed-loop (guidance and navigation, tracking) with the weapons hardware and embedded software.

Job Description:

Experienced Electrical Engineer position for an individual with educational and professional experience in the development, design, and implementation of system interconnect, high speed interfaces, and circuit card assemblies (CCA). Knowledge of digital circuits, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), analog circuits, Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) interface products, cable assembly design, and chassis assembly design required.

The individual will be responsible for the design, development, test, and integration of hardware components associated with real-time and closed-loop interfaces for weapon subsystems Test Environments (TEn) used for performance verification.

The individual is expected to work within a diverse team environment on a variety of projects in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment. A successful candidate is one who can participate in a multi-disciplined team and properly apply engineering tools and processes.

A candidate willing to collaborate and coordinate with Software, Hardware, Systems, Supply Chain, Quality, and other Engineering disciplines to resolve issues that may arise during development, testing, and integration.

A successful candidate must be able to perform the following:
  • Troubleshooting hardware and process issues down to CCA and component levels
  • Resolution of issues and testing on Test Environment (TEn) systems
  • Testing and troubleshooting electronic circuit cards, subsystems hardware, and systems interconnect
  • Performing analog and digital circuit analysis
  • Design and development of system interconnect assemblies
  • Design and development of electrical chassis assemblies
  • Identifying and implementing circuit card and subassembly design upgrades for TEn systems

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.



Required Education Skills and Experience:
  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • A minimum of six (6) years of professional experience designing, testing, and integrating digital, mixed signal, and electrical system interconnect
  • Six (6) years applicable experience with integration and test activities associated with electrical hardware assemblies including development of integration test plans, simulations, and analysis
  • Three (3) or more years of experience using Schematic Capture tools such as DxDesigner, CREO Schematic, or equivalent
  • US Citizenship required

Desired Education, Skills and Experience:
  • Masters Degree (MS) in Electrical Engineering
  • Working knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as RS-422, RS-485, LVDS, SPI, I2C, USB, and PCIe
  • Experience in high speed interfaces using Gigibit Transceivers such as Rocket IO
  • Experience and knowledge developing requirements for hardware components and assemblies
  • Working knowledge in the integration of computer hardware interfaces
  • Experience writing or integrating Firmware (VHDL or Verilog) a plus
  • Working knowledge of Configuration Management principles, environments and tools such as Windchill Product Data Management (PDM)
  • Proficiency in Linux or Unix operating systems environment

Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
