Come and join us! Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our Internet of Things Group (IoTG) as a Hardware Engineer!

In this role, you the Hardware Engineer will complete semiconductor value chain for chip implementation. Youll work closely with frontend (wafer technology) and backend (package technology) experts. You will understand critical dependencies across domains. You will conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research in the design, development, testing and utilization of information processing hardware and/or electrical components, mechanisms, materials, and/or circuitry, processes, packaging, and cabinetry for central processing units (CPUs) and/or peripheral equipment. You will also prepare specifications, evaluate vendors, and analyze test reports and ensure products conform to standards and specifications. Youll develop plans, cost estimates, and assess projects to analyze risk. You will develop procedures, analysis and design for computer components, products, and systems. Initiates, guides, and coordinates overall design and development of new ideas and products. Youll respond to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Lastly, develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment. You will run a task force & lead engineers from across Intel to determine root cause and solve customer issues.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • System level debugging including isolating the system level issue into Platform, Hardware (HW), Software (SW), Firmware (FW) and Basic Input Output System (BIOS) etc.
  • Responsible for the development of methodologies to accelerate debug throughout improving debug flows and methodologies using best known methods and cutting-edge technologies including IA and Automation techniques.
  • Possess leadership skills to drive task forces consisting of disciplines including System & Silicon Validation, Electrical Validation, Manufacturing Engineering and Design Engineering.
  • Requires broad understanding of system domains and be willing to interface with Architecture, Design, and Pre-silicon Validation teams to improve post-silicon test content and provide feedback for future silicon debug features.
  • Willing to provide innovative ideas in areas of debug tools, Design for Debug/Testability (DFX) and customer solutions.
  • Optional responsibilities include debugging Kernel, Driver and BIOS.
  • Responsible for mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

Education:

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 10+ years of experience or a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 6+ years of experience.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

6+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • System architecture and/or Processor micro-architecture, Platform Controller Hub (PCH), System-on-a-Chip (SOC), Servers.
  • Experience in Post-Si validation and System debug
  • Scripting environment (Python or Perl)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SW Stacks: OS, BIOS, FW, APIs and General System Level Use case.
  • Experience in Platform Design and Topologies.
