Job Description

Help us support our mission to Validate Any System Anywhere! We are looking for an experienced, talented, and enthusiastic Hardware Debug Engineer to be an integral part of the new Validation Lab team here in beautiful Fort Collins, Colorado. This is an onsite position with the chance to create debug and training standards, as well as work with a global Hardware Debug team to define new processes. This work will be a fundamental part of Intel's delivery of best-in-class products on the Server Roadmap. You will take responsibility for third level hardware debug as part of a lab team in Intel's Validation Engineering - iVE lab, including participating in lab readiness for the silicon roadmap, managing stakeholder relationships, and driving adherence to overall standard processes and SLAs, as part of a growing, high performing, cohesive lab team.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Provide third level debug for all system failures in VLA Lab

  • Ensure root cause is found for all VLA Lab failures including working on BIOS, HW, Drivers, and other platform components

  • Support hardware bring up during power on

  • OS Installation and BIOS flashing with latest Best Known Configuration

  • Interface with system design engineers and product planning to understand requirements

  • Develop training materials to enable lab techs understand features of new systems

  • Lead failure rate deduction initiatives locally and globally

  • Support development and debug activities

  • Research and innovate validation practices

  • Consistently deliver high-quality lab services to lab stakeholders and Drive iVE Lab standards

  • Recognizing and identifying systemic deficiencies and then implementing effective solutions

  • Suggest alternative technical solutions to meet stakeholder requirements more efficiently, with greater reusability and longer life

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

 

Minimum Qualifications

The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 3+ years of experience -OR- a Master's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 2+ years of experience -OR- a PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science:

  • Server platforms debug and bring up-BIOS, HW, Drivers, and other platform components

  • Ability to debug server platforms to the component level

  • Creating custom BKC (Best Known Configuration)

  • OS Server Admin Knowledge for both Windows and Linux (Debian, RHEL)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with IEEE 802.3 and associated network administration within a lab

  • Familiar with computer hardware engineering, especially server RAS

  • Familiar with integrated circuit design concepts

  • Proven exp in working multi geo organization

  • Work collaboratively to maximize customer value through debugging, technology, and tools

  • Able to coordinate with various cross-functional teams like program managers and various engineering teams for BKC release

  • Advanced understanding soldering, rework and board layout

  • Python and PowerShell Scripting/automation skills will be a plus

  • Advanced experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzer, and appropriate tools required for board debug

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$85,420.00-$136,400.00
