Apple is looking for a Haptic Process Engineer to join the Panel Process and Optics (PPO) Engineering team. Haptic Process Engineers are responsible to develop new innovative manufacturing process technologies to tackle complex design challenges that have direct impact to future product, quality and delivery of Apple Sensing & Touch. You will serve as a focal point in the process development of advanced key process modules from the concept/architecture stage through product engineering validation builds. We work at a fast pace and require everyone to be highly self-motivated. A successful candidate needs to be a flexible thinker and be able to problem solve outside of their respective technical area

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 5yr experience in the HDD or semiconductor assembly process development and integration
  • Consistent track record in transitioning products from conceptual stage to high volume production
  • Hands on experience in process and materials development, high precision fixture development, and data analysis/interpretation
  • Strong problem solving/trouble shooting skills and providing solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good spoken and written English
  • Ability to work independently under high pressure and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
  • International travel required, up to 20%
  • Fundamental knowledge of vibrations, acoustics, and reliability a plus

Description

Work within the Haptic engineering team to develop new assembly process and materials that meet design intent. You will collaborate with the CFT to ensure process, equipment, and materials are capable of meeting high volume production. The scope of work may include the evaluation of process and equipment capabilities, process DFM and GD&T, high precision mechanics and fixtures and others as assigned

Education & Experience

BS + equivalent work experience or MS/PhD in ME, Materials Science, Physics.
