This position is for a Laboratory Manager in the GSCQR-FMO (Global Supply Chain Quality and Reliability) (Fab Materials Organization) which is responsible for the quality and performance of materials used in Intel wafer fabs.

The GSCQR-FMO team supports the FMO organization within MSO (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations) and is part of Intel's Corporate Quality Network (CQN).

The Materials Quality and Reliability Lab Manager will be responsible for but not limited to: 

  • Managing a team of 12 professional engineers, technologists, and technicians
  • Manage lab operations including Safety, budgeting, staffing, capital expenditures, consumables.
  • Organizational development, strategic staffing, and resourcing for lab capability and metrology detection advancements.
  • Personnel development and performance reviews.
  • Set and drive improvement in deliverables and KPIs for lab projects supporting FMO, Fabs, suppliers, and metrology vendors.
  • Partner to the GSCQR-FMO Lab Technical Group Leader who is accountable for the technical lab strategy and roadmap.

  • Crisp and comfortable communication with external suppliers, internal partners, and executives spanning Intel's horizontal functions and vertical businesses.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related field of study.

  • 4+ years of experience in: 
    • Talent development of greater than 5+ employees.
    • Working with customers or suppliers.
    • Quality methods and practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Laboratory management.
  • Experience defining and improving quality operating systems, metrology methods, quality audit methodologies, and supplier management.
  • Working knowledge of fab materials integration and/or materials manufacturing, statistical process control (SPC) methods, FMEA, designing and executing experiments, MBPS (Model-Based Problem Solving), statistical data analysis, and commonality assessment.
