Job Description

The Graphics Software Architect and System Engineer shall be responsible for:

  • Ownership and accountability for all SW Arch aspects of the discrete graphics product.
  • She/he shall cover the entire breadth of the Software and Firmware product.
  • Ownership of Product Software Architecture.
  • Identifies critical SW architecture use cases, challenges, risks, and opens.
  • Coordinates/delegates where and when needed with domain/feature architects (IP and SoC) to deliver required SW Arch definition and associated collateral addressing above.

The discrete product Software Architect is a Virtual Arch Team Lead working with colleagues across the Graphics organization and greater Intel organization as well as an individual contributor responsible for the architectural definition of key aspects of the platform when needed.

  • Point of contact / owner of updates to management on SW Arch status
  • Understanding the target market, product goals, requirements and KPIs
  • Primary technical contributor to SW PRD definition. Co-owns with planning.
  • Identify all the critical SW use cases that will determine success of product (per above SAS)

Point of Contact for all arch support and provide direction to partners and stakeholders such as, but not limited to Program Management, Management and leadership, Development and Validation. This is during the entire duration of the program.

  • Delivers arch direction (the SAS) to engineering. Constant on-going support to engineering throughout program execution all the way to PV/PRQ.
  • Leverages the rest of Architecture team when/where required. The product SW architect is not a deep expert in every domain but an expert in at least one with the ability to work the relevant subject matter experts where and when needed.
  • Overall technical product owner with decision making authority and full accountability for bringing competitive products to market.
  • They will provide technical guidance and oversight of all aspects of the product development, execution, and trade-off decisions, etc., as well as for engagements with partner teams.
  • They will drive a holistic view of our validation strategy, approach and coverage gaps for the validation and development teams especially in the area of focused micro level tests all the way to E2E usage coverage.
  • Will be working tightly with the HW engineers to accelerate and ensure smooth execution for end-to-end product development.
  • Act as a key advisor to VP GM for all key program technical decision making and validation approach.


Qualifications

Min Required education: BSc in computer science, Electronics or equivalent.
Min Required Experience:
10+ years in software development and/or Software architecture definition
Deep knowledge and experience implementing and/or architecting compute or accelerator platforms.
Proven track record of architecting / developing first-time-right platforms to meet aggressive timeline and development targets.
Deep Technical subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas is critical:

  • Data Centre and Cloud Management systems
  • Gaming
  • AI and DL software solutions
  • High Performance Computing Solutions


Preferred/Desired Level of Experience:
15 years in software development and at least 5 years in Software architecture definition in context of large complex programs.
Working understanding of typical SoC functional blocks such as Memory Subsystem, Analog Sensing, Standard Interfaces (PCIe/USB/I2C/GPIO/UART), etc. is essential.
Deep Technical subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas is preferred:

  • Compute offload accelerator solutions
  • Security Architecture
  • Orchestration
