Whole Life Engineering (WLE) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user.

Job Summary:
As a Graphics Developer/Designer youll be an integral member of the Terminal High Altitude Air Defense (THAAD) Radar training team working with the customer. In this role, you will focus on assessing, researching and analyzing engineering data that includes complex engineering drawings, schematics and 3D CAD models in CREO and Solid Works.

Youll also leverage your research and analysis skills in creating high-quality graphics for training and technical manuals that adhere to MIL-STD-40051 as well as updating Repair Parts and Special Tools List (RPSTL) vector line graphics using AutoTrol Technical Illustrator, Adobe Illustrator, 3DS Max and PTC IsoDraw.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Performing formatting, editing, proofreading, and quality control functions to produce technical publications in a deadline-driven environment for the THAAD RADAR support of Army customers.
  • Working closely with engineers to develop or edit graphics for technical publications and military logistics technical publications
  • Managing multiple time sensitive deadlines
  • Creating 3D CAD models (engineering drawings)
  • Providing technical writers and logisticians with parts list data that is discovered during research and analysis
An advanced degree can be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: Masters is equal to 2 years of experience or a Ph.D. is equal to 5 years of experience

Qualifications You Must Have:
Education: Bachelors Degree OR an additional 2 years of relevant professional experience may be substituted for each 1 year of college.
Employment Experience:
  • 5+ years experience developing technically oriented graphic design in a civilian or military environment
  • Experience working with graphics software tools such as Adobe Illustrator, AutoTrol Technical Illustrator, PTC IsoDraw, #DS Max(or other 3D package) or comparable graphics software.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:
  • Experience in development RPSTL exploded drawing and possible other technically similar documents in MIL-STD-40051 and/or S1000D standards
  • Experience with MIL-STD-40051 for Technical Manuals.
  • Experience working with Product Data Management Toll (Windchill or similar), engineering drawings, blueprints, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and design.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical assemblies and parts hierarchies.
  • Detail oriented with strong commitment to quality
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team setting and successfully navigate a fast-paced, results oriented, deadline driven environment
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading project teams and effective communication skills.
