Our team defines, develops and brings to market integrated and discrete GPUs addressing consumer and data center customer needs. The Architecture team is responsible for the definition of all GPU products covering 3D gaming, AI, HPC and visual cloud segments. The GPU Compute Architecture team is looking for strong problem solver, passionate and driven individuals to help define and build the next generation of highly efficient GPU architectures for Intel. We are looking for a GPU Compute Performance Engineer to analyze deep learning networks, high performance computing (HPC) workloads to identify bottlenecks and performance issues, and to optimize the architecture to maximize performance. The compute architecture team is responsible for architecture definition, analysis, performance projections, and performance attainment for GPUs targeting AI, HPC, and data centers.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Performance and power modelling, workload analysis, and performance debug to identify SW/HW performance improvement.
  • Analyze and report out workload performance for future GPU architectures.
  • Collaborate with other architecture, modeling, and validation teams on feature definition and performance target attainment
  • Analyze new SW/HW innovations and drive the most relevant into future GPU Architecture definition.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum skill and experience:

  • Must have Master's in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 1+ years of education or work experience. Or a PhD in the same field.
  • Must have the required degree or expect the required degree by June of 2022.
  • Experience or course work in the following:
    • Computer architecture or GPU architecture
    • Basic GPU programming, machine learning or high-performance compute (HPC)
    • Building analytical or simulation-based performance models
    • Programming skills: C/C++ and python


Preferred skill and experience:

  • Experience in Performance Analysis and Debug.
  • Experience in OpenCL/CUDA/Metal or other such parallel programming APIs is an advantage.
  • Should have an aptitude to learn new things quickly in this fast-changing domain and flexibility to work on any mix of the above roles as needed.
