Would you like to join Apple's growing wireless silicon development team?
Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) space vehicles transmit the power of a lightbulb, they are 13000 miles away, and are moving four kilometers per second. The received signals are commonly one hundred times weaker than cosmic microwave background radiation left over from the Big Bang and arrive next to interfering signals ten billion times stronger, just few MHz away.
Our GNSS team is part of Apple's wireless SOC team. We are a vertically integrated engineering team spanning RF, mixed signal analog design, systems engineering, Design Verification, RTL design, firmware and software engineering, Test, and Validation.
Our focus is on highly energy efficient and robust GNSS receiver design. We develop GNSS technology that touches hundreds of millions of lives, something we are passionate about. We'd like you to consider being a part of our team.
As the RF Systems Lab Manager, you will be part of the GNSS RF System team and design, purchase and review the HW platforms and lab machines to enable this mission.
Key Qualifications
Provide technical leadership to RF Systems team members
Either design, review or supervise (on any phase of the design cycle) all RF boards which the team will utilize, this will be done after collecting all internal requirements
Be responsible for inventory both in terms of internal boards as well as lab machines that the Systems team uses.
Purchase based on a head planning new machines/tools based on team needs
Rework either internally or by using outsource groups the RF board used by the team
Collaborate with RF bring-up and integration teams on RF board layout, test interface methodology and programming sequence, and RF calibration programming
Bench test, debug, and characterization of RF System items including transmitters, receivers, PLL, power amplifiers, ADC/DAC, crystal oscillators, and PMU
RF system characterization measuring phase noise, sensitivity, and other radio parameters
Analysis/Verification of radio calibrations (IQ, DCOC, RC cal, IP2, etc.)
Debug of chip level or board level desense and spur issues
Generation of RF design, verification, test report
Education & Experience
BSEE is required
