Job Summary:
The Algorithm & Simulation (A&S) Directorate is responsible for algorithm development including Guidance, Navigation, and Control; radio frequency (RF) and electro-optical/infrared (EO-IR) Signal Processing; and missile-and-sensor-level Modeling and Simulation for RMD's broad portfolio of projects, programs and products. The GNC effectors teams within the Algorithm & Simulation Directorate design, integrate, and optimize guidance, navigation, state estimation, and control algorithms to meet mission objectives. We support new business initiatives and help develop & execute technology roadmaps. Our portfolio includes supporting the Naval Power Mission Area, the Strategic Missile Defense Mission area, and the Sensor & Sustainment mission areas.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • The GNC Effectors Section Lead will have a technical role on at least one program in addition to performing the day-to-day leadership of a group of GNC engineers, with the primary responsibility of ensuring that each employee has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancement.
  • In this role, you will perform leadership duties including performance development and appraisal, salary planning, manpower planning, career coaching, and ensuring adherence to company policies.
  • You will contribute to the technical oversight of employees, monitor program execution, and provide subject matter expertise in direct support of program efforts and proposal activities.
  • You will be part of the GNC Department leadership team within the Algorithm and Simulation directorate.
This position can be a Manager I Systems Engineering or a Manager II Systems Engineering, based on the candidates qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: Masters is equal to 2 years of experience or a Ph.D. is equal to 4 years of experience.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics
  • Minimum six (6) years of work experience in guidance design, analysis and testing, with at least four (4) of these years in missile systems applications for Manager I Systems Engineering OR Minimum of eight (8) years of work experience in guidance design, analysis and testing, with at least six (6) of these years in missile systems applications for Manager II Systems Engineering
  • Professional experience that includes a combination of at least two of the following areas: digital and modern control systems, dynamics, Kalman filter design, signal processing, 6DOF simulations, or guidance algorithms
  • An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance
