We are seeking an extraordinary Global Commodity Manager to manage continuity of supply, warranty redemption, repair/testing, reverse logistics and costs for LCD commodity This role will also support the commodity procurement team on other commodity-related items

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience in Supply Chain Management
  • Experience in vendor management process and contract manufacturers
  • Strong procurement experience, project management skills and exceptional ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • A good record of been thorough, quick, adaptable, and analytical
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Chinese

Description

You will design and implement solutions that achieve business critical metrics in the following areas:

Cost Management: Skillfully manage costs for warranty, seed stock, repairs and out-of- production replacement parts across all regions and repair channels.

Continuity of Supply: Design your repair and/or replacement supply chain to ensure appropriate supply for system level ("Level 1") repairs at the lowest possible supply chain cost and at the highest Service level for Apple customers. Lead recovery plans and execution when global supply falls short of demand. Drive continuous improvements and efficiencies and ensure full support throughout the service phase of the product lifecycle.

Warranty Redemption: Ensure that Apple's internal systems and processes are capable of redeeming the full value of warranty terms with our suppliers. Drive system and process improvements to increase our scope and eliminate all costs associated with in-warranty support.

Supplier Management: You will manage suppliers' performance in Service Operations through Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) and Supplier Performance Index (SPI) processes. You will also partner with commodity leaders in Operations (GSM) to negotiate contractual terms in support of Service Operations' business requirements in the areas of cost, continuity of supply, quality, and warranty. Lastly, you will drive suppliers to improve their infrastructure to support our developing business needs.

Reverse Logistics Operations: Set the metric targets and lead the supplier's management of repair and screening operations. Evaluate suppliers' capacity availability and manage to required demand levels. Monitor suppliers planning and procurement activities of their repair/screening operation to ensure continuity of supply and compliance with Apple cost, quality and service level requirements

In addition, you will partner with Planning, Purchasing, and Quality disciplines within AppleCare

Education & Experience

BS or BA degree from an accredited 4-year college or university (MBA preferred)
