We have an opening for a Postdoctoral researcher to work in the area of quantitative genetics. Opportunities exist to further scientific understanding of the genetic, epigenetic, and environmental determinants of quantitative traits contributing to fitness, cognitive performance, metabolic output, and disease susceptibility. You will develop new methods, tools, and workflows for analysis of -omic data, including genomic, transcriptomic, epigenomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data. This position is in the Genomics group in the Biosciences and Biotechnology Division.

- Design and conduct studies of molecular genetic and metabolic data, such as whole genome DNA sequencing, metagenomic sequencing, epigenomic sequencing, RNA-Seq, and LC-MS metabolomics data.
- Apply statistical analyses and develop predictive models to understand a diverse range of quantitative traits and human phenotypes.
- Research, design, and implement analysis techniques and computing approaches to model interactions between genomic, transcriptomic, and metabolic factors.
- Pursue independent (but complementary) research interests and interact with a broad spectrum of scientists internally and externally to the Laboratory.
- Publish research results in peer-reviewed scientific or technical journals and present results at external conferences seminars and/or technical meetings.
- Organize, analyze, and present data from research at seminars, technical meetings, national and international conferences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Recent Ph.D. in computational biology, applied mathematics, biophysics, biostatistics, or a related field.
- Experience in developing and applying novel analytic techniques and modeling approaches to the study of complex systems.
- Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization.
- Familiarity with quantitative biology.
- Ability to develop independent research projects as demonstrated through publication of peer-reviewed literature.
- Proficient verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and present and explain technical information.
- Understanding of the principles of metagenomic sequence analysis.
- Experience with RNA-Seq, microarray, or other gene expression profiling techniques, and targeted or untargeted metabolomic profiling techniques.
- Experience with quantitative health analytics.

Note: This is a two year Postdoctoral appointment with the possibility of extension to a maximum of three years. Eligible candidates are recent PhDs within five years of the month of the degree award at time of hire date.
