Shipping, Receiving & Mail Services is a diverse and nimble team that supports logistics activities for the Santa Clara Valley campus. We're seeking a highly organized freight team member with great communication skills and a can-do attitude. You are a self starter with an aptitude for completing tasks on time. The ability to deliver at a high level of detail and work independently or with minimal supervision, is critical. A successful contributor is to have propensity for learning and carry out assigned responsibilities; safely, diligently, and with integrity. Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience working in a loading dock, warehouse, mail facility or similar environment.
  • Material handling skills, including ability to use motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Requires a valid driver's license. Candidates must be at least 25 years of age to comply with fleet insurance requirements.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with the following: scheduling or calendar software, logistics tracking software-experience with BearTracks is a plus, database software, Numbers or Excel, and Pages or Word.
  • Ability to perform the following types of physical activities: lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull to move equipment, bend/stoop/squat/kneel, and reach above shoulders.

Description

Daily activities include inspecting all inbound material, accurately entering information into the department's database, and coordinating delivery with the recipients. You will also follow up on pending shipments and rack future shipments in the appropriate areas.

You will communicate with Freight's onsite contractors to assign their daily deliveries and pickups around Santa Clara Valley. You will ensure that these contractors adhere to the team's best practices and all material is accounted for before and after each delivery.

You will provide exceptional customer service by communicating quickly and efficiently with customers, providing accurate delivery windows, and coordinating with other teams in the department to optimize deliveries. When needed, you will deliver time-sensitive material to customers.

Other responsibilities include creating and editing the team's standard operating procedures, monitoring safety conditions, and various other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.
