The mission of Intels Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) is to drive the future for FPGA and eASIC technology/solutions around the globe.

Within PSG, you'll be surrounded by some of the brightest minds/engineers in the world, and the PSG IP Architecture team is seeking an experienced FPGA IP Solutions Architect to help define future FPGA IP solutions for Ethernet, SmartNIC, Networking, and Communications segments for programmable logic products, including Structured ASIC. This forward-looking dynamic role provides unique opportunities to influence future product direction, requiring a self-starter with strong personal communication and collaboration skills.

As a FPGA IP Solutions Architect you will bring architecture solutions experience for Data Center, Communications, Networking, and/or Wireless, ideally covering both hardware and software, with knowledge of FPGA architecture, transceiver architecture and higher-level protocols. Ideally you will have experience implementing designs for FPGA and/or ASIC. Expertise and/or experience in cryptography for networking and storage would be a distinct advantage.

In this role, you will get to work with Silicon, Design Tool, and other IP architects to define and influence new FPGA product development and drive delivery of holistic customer solutions that meet market requirements and capabilities, comprising silicon, soft IP, applications SW, and tools support.

You will participate in cross functional teams and be responsible for authoring aligned architecture specification documents for the FPGA IP solutions, calling out standards requirements. You will also work closely with IP and platform implementation teams on the creation of IP blocks, solutions, and customer designs to enable those capabilities.


Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes, project work, internships or military experiences. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.


Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in FPGA and/or ASIC in networking, communications or datacenter (e.g. applications, architecture, design engineering). Experience should include FPGA and/or ASIC design tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in FPGA/ASIC architecture, applications and design engineering for communications

  • Experience with SmartNICs

  • Experience with high speed serial communications, packet processing, and virtualized systems
