Job Description

The New Mexico Disaggregated Manufacturing Organization (NM DMO) is growing rapidly as it brings the Foveros HVM (High Volume Manufacturing) to life under a single organization with all segments of the process co-located at a single campus for the first time. As part of this growth, we are seeking a Die Sort/Wafer Sort Engineering Group Leader (GL) to join our team as a key leader in our initial startup.

This role will begin with an approximately 9-month seed assignment in Oregon, where the GL will be embedded with the Die Sort and Wafer Sort transferring organizations to learn the processes and then successfully transfer those processes upon return to New Mexico (NM) for startup. The scope of this role will initially cover all process modules/tools in both Die Sort and Wafer Sort, and will later narrow to a specific set of modules/tools as the NM site begins to ramp.

Seed responsibilities for this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Leading and managing a team of engineers across both Die Sort and Wafer Sort

  • Ensuring seed engineer deliverables are met

  • Immersion in the tactical operations of Die Sort and Wafer Sort transfer organizations in Oregon, learning and documenting the processes to bring them back to the NM site for start-up

  • Integrating into the Sort VF team structure and building strong relationships with partner sites

  • Understanding and documenting the tactical, technical, and organizational challenges facing the Die Sort and Wafer Sort teams, and planning for how those challenges will be mitigated at the home site in NM

  • Developing training plans for Home Team engineers and group leaders

  • Planning for equipment install/qual strategy in NM

  • Leading task forces or mission-based teams as needed

  • Being physically located in Oregon for the duration of the seed assignment, and then relocating to New Mexico upon completion of seed assignment


Upon return to the home site in NM, transfer responsibilities for this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring execution to equipment install/qual strategy to successfully ramp the NM site

  • Partnering with Manufacturing/Production/Integration and other Engineering teams to execute a successful and on-time factory certification, startup, and ramp

  • Partnering with the Home Team Engineering GL(s) to ensure training is successfully proliferated

  • Participating in building out the engineering teams to support production ramp


Ongoing responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Managing and leading the technical engineering team to meet all safety, quality, output, cost, and people performance requirements

  • Understanding and driving solutions to technical issues impacting equipment ramp and manufacturing output

  • Providing technical and tactical direction, driving methodical sustaining, systematic troubleshooting, and continuous process improvement

  • Developing skills and expertise of your team, enabling long term growth and development

  • Driving effective meetings and decision-making forums ranging from working level to technical task forces

  • Working closely with other Module Engineering teams to solve integrated process and equipment problems

  • Partnering within the Virtual Factory structure to share learnings, maintain Copy Exactly, and drive improvements

  • Partnering with the Manufacturing Team (Operations Managers/Shift GLs) and the Production Team (Manufacturing Engineers and Industrial Engineers) to run the factory, develop technician workforce, and ensure availability and utilization goals are met

  • Leading the execution of key programs and deliverables on behalf of the area and the factory

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field of study.

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering or a technical leadership role.


Preferred qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience with wafer equipment and processes

  • 2+ years experience managing people
