Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Implement and manage software quality policies, systems, and processes.

2. Perform the role of test lead on software projects to ensure that all testing deliverables meet quality, cost, schedule and performance objectives.

3. Develop and maintain in-depth Test Plans and drive Test Strategies.

4. Design and implement automated test infrastructure and automated test procedures.

5. Create test plans, write and execute automated tests, and document test results.

6. Participate in project planning and estimation.

7. As an integral team member on development projects, participate in software requirements specifications and design document creation with a focus on testability.

8. Participate in project change control board meetings to review and evaluate product change requests.

9. Evaluate, select, and implement new technologies for existing and future product.

10. Supervise and mentor Associate Software Engineers and Test Technicians in state-of-the-art testing practices.

11. Work with the Software Process Group to identify and support standard methods, and common tools and scripts.

12. To grow the expertise of software personnel, determine the type of skills and knowledge required for them to meet or exceed the needs of development projects.

13. Develop and conduct internal training programs. Define training standards for personnel.

14. Continuously identify, measure, follow, and improve R&D processes.

15. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree

Solid background and experience in all aspects of software testing

Significant experience with automated software testing methods and tools

Knowledge and experience in object oriented languages (Delphi , C++, C#, Java)

Knowledge and experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl, JavaScript)

Knowledge and experience developing and testing on current Windows and Linux based operating systems

Knowledge and experience in all phases of software development lifecycle activities

Excellent working knowledge of software testing methods and tools

Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or JavaScript, especially in test automation

Excellent leadership and communication skills

Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Background check results satisfactory to SEL

Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications

Software testing certification such as CSTE or ISTQB.

Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g. Telnet, SSH, FTP, serial communications)

Knowledge of SQL and SQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, SQL Server)

Experience with automated unit testing (e.g. MSTest, NUnit)

Knowledge of SEL products and the electric power industry
