Job Summary:
The Budgets group within the Financial Planning & Analysis organization (FPA) has a rare opportunity for a strong, experienced analyst who will have significant responsibility in the day-to-day management of overhead budgets and headcount for the Digital Technologies (DT) organization within Raytheon Missiles and Defense. This person will be a front-line Analyst working with DT leadership to achieve Organizational budget targets and as such will have frequent interaction with Finance FLT, Digital Technologies Senior Leadership Team, and the RMD Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Analyze monthly overhead performance to forecast and effectively analyze /communicate variance drivers to the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Digital Technologies (DT) management teams.
  • Actively participate in the day-to-day support of assigned DT Directorate(s) to help achieve OH and Headcount budget targets
  • Obtain a breadth of knowledge in RMD financial metrics with an emphasis on prime resources and overhead expenses along with a full understanding of all the intricacies of Overhead Budget development and maintenance (to include detailed analysis, trends, what-ifs, etc.)
  • Develop a firm understanding of all aspects of DT Overhead Expenses including Indirect labor, Crossover, Internal Orders, Capital Expense, Rates, Pos, Contract Labor, Etc
  • Drive results through a team environment while developing and improving the knowledge base of others on the team
  • Directly interact with DT Leadership, FP&A, Rates, Capital, Government Accounting, Cost Accounting and Financial Accounting
  • Support Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Estimates at Complete (EACs), and Long-Range Planning (LRP) exercises for the DT organization
  • Become knowledgeable in both internal and external controls, such as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and RMS Disclosure Statement


    Qualifications You Must Have:
  • University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
    • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Math or related required
  • Strong experience with Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas)
  • Experience using other Microsoft Office tools (including Word and PowerPoint)

    Qualifications We Value:
  • Experience with project or task financial management/support including analyzing budgets, monitoring actual cost data, developing forecasts, and providing detailed as well as executive variance analysis
  • Experience using the financial software systems SAP R/3 and BW/Analysis for Office
  • Able to meet critical deadlines and develop and apply solutions and process improvements
  • Experience with large data sets and data manipulation techniques in Excel
  • Experience performing qualitative or comparative analysis with an emphasis on variance explanation
  • Experience interfacing and conducting business with various functional disciplines
  • Strong communication, comfortable speaking in groups while confidently and professionally sharing opinions with every level of management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks going on simultaneously, with overlapping responsibilities and firm due dates
  • Extremely organized with ability to handle multiple requests or tasks simultaneously
  • Familiarity with manpower planning, tracking, costing
  • Inquisitive with strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Independent thinker, self-motivated and proactive
  • A drive for leading process change, willing and able to partner with cross business teams to improve forecast accuracy
