WW Procurement Finance is seeking a Data Analyst to partner with a team of individuals to transform the systems and processes that are used to forecast, analyze and support Apple's Procurement team. In partnership with a System Architect, Data Engineer and Subject Matter Experts (SME's), the Data Analyst will help to develop models, manage integration with existing models/data, build and maintain data governance, and support analytic frameworks for a variety of Procurement Finance teams. The role is broad in scope, and will evolve as the project lifecycle evolves. This is a great opportunity to see project from the early stages and have a huge impact to the project and the business!

Key Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years related finance/data experience
  • Advanced Excel spreadsheet and modeling skills. Proven track record to distill complex decisions into simple but comprehensive financial models
  • Basic understanding of database concepts or hands-on experience with SQL for data manipulation and analysis
  • Data wrangling and Extract Transform Load (ETL) automation experience a plus
  • Passion for & experience with exploratory data analysis and data visualization using any of R, Python, or Tableau a big plus.
  • Ability to thrive in high visibility, fast paced, and constantly evolving project environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Analytical/problem-solving skills at macro and micro level
  • Detail oriented

Description

The Worldwide Procurement Finance group creates and provides analytical support for critical cost data, including standard costs, forecasted costs, and actual costs for Apple. Within the group, this position reports to the Technology & Systems team. Ability to work with minimal direct supervision while performing complex and non-routine tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work across various Finance & Technology teams to analyze current state business processes & data, then translate into analytics solutions

Present complex financial modeling in simplified form to Finance & Technology partners, requiring deep finance knowledge, a strong eye for operational improvement, & the ability to see finance data differently

Acquire, transform and analyze large, disparate and oftentimes messy data to derive measurable insights. Creativity and drive are required to unearth features and signals in the vast amount of data inside and outside of Apple's Finance organization

Identify, cleanse & integrate any data required for analysis using ETL tools and/or Excel-VBA/R/Python

Using programming languages, tools & systems (SQL, Tableau, Python) to analyze / interpret data (big plus).

Establish data governance standard methodologies, and drive alignment across company partners with varying processes/objectives

Education & Experience
- BS in computer science, mathematics or other quantitative subject area with education or experience with Finance, Accounting, or related business processes
OR
- BS in Finance, Accounting or related with one to three years demonstrated experience in data analytics and programming
