Job Summary:
The SMD Operations Finance team has an exciting opportunity for a self-starting financial analyst supporting the Strategic Sensor Systems (S3) TPY-2 Domestic Production program. You will also have exposure to international production efforts, as the domestic production efforts are intertwined with total product execution. Finally, you will have the unique opportunity of serving as the SMD Operations Annual Operating Plan (AOP) point of contact.
In this role you will support the quarterly Estimate at Complete (EAC) cycle, the monthly contractual earned value (EV) process, and weekly reporting. Additionally, you will complete contract baselines (initial budgets) for new work and track current year performance of key financial metrics against plan. Finally, you will support and help lead regular AOP activities, including weekly reviews with the SMD Operations LT and monthly manpower reviews with Financial Planning.
The variety of this role will provide you with a unique and challenging Operations finance experience as well as invaluable insight into how factory execution translates into program performance. Most importantly, you will leave this role with an array of skills applicable to any number of finance roles supporting Operations, Supply Chain, or Program Management.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Acquire full accountability for the TPY-2 Domestic Production financial execution, including EAC development, earned value support, performance against AOP, and tracking cost control initiatives
  • Partner with your Operations customers to ensure decisions are supported by an informed financial review
  • Support your Operations Finance teammates including but not limited to participation in special projects, knowledge sharing, cross-training, ad hoc investigation, and overall support.
  • Collaborate with factory managers and factory financial analysts; provide analysis and influence factory forecasts and execution
  • Partner with the labor estimating group to provide sound basis of estimates (BOEs) for new business and establish rigorous baselines for new work in support of the Gate 5 process
Additional responsibilities:
  • Aid management by quickly assimilating into a team culture
  • Proactively initiate problem solving and review activities
  • Ensure that all assignments are prioritized and completed on schedule with adequate time allotted for management review
  • Prepare special projects and other assignments, as required
  • Prepare and present director-level presentations

    Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors Degree Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or related
  • Minimum 2 years experience in corporate finance or management accounting or relevant masters degree
  • Experience with Excel (e.g. pivot tables, advanced formulas, large data sets)

  • Earned Value Management experience or certification

  • Excellent analytical abilities to identify problems and influential enough to ensure corrective actions are taken in a timely manner
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, comfortable speaking in small groups and has the ability to confidently and professionally share opinions leadership
  • Experience in RMD finance organization
  • Experience working with SAP / BW master data structures
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PowerQuery, PowerPivot, FRED reporting, etc.
  • Relentlessly curious and proactively acts on it
  • Anticipates issues before they arise and proactively resolves them
  • Strong track record of delivering exceptional results to customers
  • Extremely organized, can track multiple scenarios; ys has record of the final analysis
  • Extremely thorough, submits complete and accurate work to customers
