Job Summary:

The Air Power Mission Area has an opening for an individual to serve as the Finance Leader for the Strategic Strike Product Area Directorate (PAD). The Strategic Strike PAD is a portfolio of programs with a growing group of proprietary development programs with projected 2022 Revenues of over $300M. This role reports directly to the Air Power Mission Area CFO, but will work most directly with the Strategic Strike PAD leader and the PAD leadership team to ensure successful execution of the portfolio of products/contracts within the PAD.

The Strategic Strike PAD is comprised of industry-leading survivable, air-launched penetrating effectors that support global strategic deterrence. The PAD includes the Long-Range Standoff Weapon (LRSO) and a portfolio of proprietary development efforts. Most recently, the United States Air Force awarded RMD a $2 billion contract for the LRSO weapon, which will replace the legacy air-launched cruise missile expected to last through February 2027.

The Strategic Strike PAD is headquartered in Tucson, AZ and the portfolio includes multiple cost type contracts, Risk Reduction and EMD efforts.

The Finance Leader is responsible for leading a team of talented analysts, coaching and mentoring members of the team at all levels, and ensuring proper staffing levels and the right skill mix needed to meet internal and external customer requirements. Interested candidates must have prior Finance Management experience along with a proficiency in Finance reporting systems and processes. The successful candidate will have the ability to work relatively independently, be self-motivated, and comfortable with new challenges.

This position is required to work onsite, in Tucson, AZ. Relocation is provided.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Coordination and oversight of all financial aspects including financial planning (Long Range Plan, AOP, working capital, monthly financial forecasting & performance reporting, and New Business Investments)
  • Oversight of Estimates at Completion (EACs)
  • Representing the PAD at regular financial status reviews with Air Power Mission Area leadership
  • Providing strategic financial leadership in partnership with Strategic Strike PAD leaders in areas such as affordability, cost management, and program growth
  • Providing financial analysis for investments & growth opportunities
  • Ensuring solid proposal offerings are being made for new business that comply with our business practices and support achievement of our financial objectives
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or related field
  • 12 years work experience to include Financial/Accounting Management
  • Leadership experience in a matrixed environment
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) concepts, procedures and/or processes, including baseline planning and/or Integrated Baseline Review (IBR) preparation and execution
  • Experience with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA)
  • Experience interfacing and conducting business with various functional disciplines (engineering, supply chain etc.)
  • Experience in organizing, preparing, and presenting briefings to customers, management and/or peers
  • An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: Masters is equal to 2 years of experience.

Qualifications We Value:
  • Masters Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with multiple layers within the organization
  • Experience with SAP (APEX or similar tools)
  • Experienced computer proficiency (Excel - Advanced, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Ability to drive change and influence beyond authority level
  • Experience leading/managing interpersonal teams
  • Experience managing multiple DoD contracts

Additional Details:

This position requires the eligibility to have or obtain a security clearance and be a US citizen. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
