Key Qualifications

  • Device allocation/handling for the World Wide Field Engineering teams and interaction with the respective cross-functional teams
  • Test equipment and device preparation, test setup in lab and/or field environment
  • Coordinate asset inventory, test equipment calibration/maintenance, fleet management (field testing vans)
  • Coordinate third party security assignments, invoicing
  • Test execution either manually or using test automation on Mac/Windows OS, in lab and field environment
  • Collect device logs, craft test reports, file Radar tickets for issues found and advance, as needed
  • Follow testing procedures and protocols to ensure reliability and quality of test results
  • Ability to multitask on various project simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and to be flexible to function in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to travel domestic and international is required, sometimes on short notice
  • Other duties, as assigned

Description

The Field Design Engineering team is looking for a motivated and hardworking, Field Engineering Technician, to support Apple's World Wide Field Engineering team, which is responsible for evaluating the performance of the latest iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch hardware systems, in the field, from early prototypes to final products, on different networks and wireless technologies

In addition to supporting the Field Engineering team, you will work closely with other Apple cross-functional teams and 3rd party vendors

Strong communication and organizational skills, attention to details, collaboration, and the ability of multitasking across various projects and tasks are essential to be successful in this position

Education & Experience
- Associates Degree is a minimum, Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is a plus, or equivalent work experience

Additional Requirements

  • - iOS/Mac/Windows OS familiarity
  • - Familiarity with RF instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, spectrum analyses, etc.) in a lab environment that includes RF conducted and radiated testing is helpful
