Intel Foveros Technology Manufacturing in Rio Rancho, NM is seeking applicants for Lab Fault Isolation and Failure Analysis (FIFA) Engineer positions. Lab FIFA Engineers will be responsible for working with a team of engineers and technicians in an analytical lab environment to perform Electrical and Physical Failure Analysis in support of Foveros technology transfer and high volume manufacturing

The detailed responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for the Foveros technology transfer from the TD site to the receiving site with a focus on FIFA techniques and BKMs to be used for low yield diagnosis to ensure the yield pareto and failure mechanisms to meet technology transfer goals. An approximately 3-month seed assignment in the transfer site to learn new technology driven lab techniques/BKMs is required.
  • Working with lab engineers and technicians for the new Foveros technology start up in NM including FIFA tools install/qual, tool operation training and transfer required new BKMs implementation
  • Responsible for lab daily operations including sample preparation, electrical bench testing, chemical handling, data collection and interpretation, customer interaction, tool trouble-shooting and other lab sustaining activities
  • Providing seamless lab support for the transfer driven yield match exercise to ensure the technology goals are met. Upon the completion of the technology transfer, FIFA engineers are expected to continue providing quality and timely FA support for yield improvement and HVM sustaining
  • Working in a skewed shift may be required

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS, MS or PhD degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 4 years lab experience in one of the following areas: Electrical Characterization, Fault Isolation, Focused Ion Beam (FIB), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous lab experience with emission-based fault isolation tools/techniques (IREM/photon emission, Elite/thermal emission, nano-probing, EBAC and other FI techniques) are highly desired. Extensive physical failure analysis (PFA) experience is also a plus.
  • 6+ months demonstrated an in-depth understanding of analytical equipment and semiconductor process flow operation
  • 6+ months knowledge of basic statistics and scripting
