F11x Intel Rio Rancho technology development team is looking for an experienced Defect Metrology Development Engineer to be part of the Defect metrology development team. In this role you will be responsible to deliver innovative solutions for defect issues including proactive detection strategies to increase yield, quality and reduce costs. This will involve exceptional collaboration with cross functional, cross company teams and equipment suppliers to meet challenging program goals. This position will require flexibility to accommodate the changing priorities and needs in a technology development.

The Defect Metrology Development Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Demonstrate in depth knowledge of defect metrology and defect detection techniques.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience on all of the inspect tool categories, including e-beam, bright field, dark field, macro and whole wafer, bare wafer, and review tools.
  • Demonstrate proven skills to pair tool capabilities with current defect issues to ensure adequate detection/metrics.
  • Drive innovative techniques using the current tool set, to provide novel inline information.
  • Partner with vendors and equipment engineers to drive future tools to meet upcoming needs.
  • Define the roadmaps to meet requirements, goals and milestones for a new technology process.
  • Train ramp/production engineers and technicians for process transfer and creating standard operating procedures
  • Monitor key response metrics to ensure both product and tool health.
  • Engage closely with tool vendors. Drive escalations and ensure resolution to any process and/or equipment problems.
  • Collaborate with process development engineers to advise in the selection of appropriate characterization techniques and to aid in data interpretation for defect capture development and optimization.
  • Define and establish process, procedures, and equipment configuration to meet new product introductions and volume manufacturing needs.
  • Install and qualification of new metrology equipment.
  • Develop strategies/process controls to prevent excursion events.
  • Develop process control systems to ensure consistency in metrology data
  • Establish relationships across various departments to drive cohesive learning and cross functional problem solving.
  • Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving techniques.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Qualifications listed as preferred or additional will be considered a plus factor for applicants.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a Master's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field of study with 6+ years of industry/corporate experience in Defect Metrology or a Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field of study with 3+ years of industry/corporate experience in Defect Metrology (Defect Metrology industry experience will be defined as those working in a high tech company environment).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of fundamental principles of metrology, tooling systems, applications, capabilities and limitations.
  • Semi-conductor company experience is preferred.
