F-16 Flight Manual Management Engineer

This position is an on-site flight manual Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for managing the technical content, format and accuracy of assigned United States Air Force (USAF) F-16 flight manual publications. This position is located at Hill AFB, Utah and requires close coordination with the F-16 System Program Office (SPO). This position require an extensive background in the F-16 aircraft and use of flight manuals. This person is the final review authority prior to the release of the flight manuals to the F-16 Units. Works independently to provide guidance, strategy, planning and continuous improvement assistance to the F-16 Chief Engineer and Engineering Director in all activities related to USAF
F-16 Flight Manuals. Participate, as a voting member, on the Flight Manual Executive Steering Group (FMESG). Interfaces with onsite and offsite Flight Safety and System Safety engineers to assist in clearing flight manual-related USAF Safety Investigation Board (SIB) recommendations. Coordinates with the Technical Order Manager (TOM) for Flight Manual Program (FMP) numbering, printing, distribution and indexing. Participates in Technical Order (T.O.) Planning and Requirements conferences. Provides technical content expertise to facilitate the quality of in-process reviews, preliminary and critical design reviews, pre- and post-publication reviews, flight manual T.O. review boards, and other T.O. development functions. Works closely with flight safety to assist in determining requirements for new flight manual publications and updates to existing flight manual publications. Coordinate with Configuration Management (CM) to identify flight manuals affected by organic change modifications. Ensure proper receipt, processing, and resolution of USAF Forms 847. Coordinates with the TOM to ensure concurrent delivery of manuals and associated checklists, and supplements. Establish a Quality Assurance program to inspect and approve reproduction media and printed or electronic copies of publications. Ensure the addition of internal links in the digital flight manuals prior to their distribution. Coordinate sustainment of the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) and Automatic Stores Configuration System (ASCS) programs for the USAF. Determine the need for, schedule, and chair, a Flight Manual Review Conference (FMRC) for each assigned publication. This position requires occasional travel

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Must possess at least an Interim Secret Clearance

Basic Qualifications
-Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with 10+ years of tactical aviation experience

- Must have knowledge and experience in the structure and use of USAF military specification Technical Orders including Flight Series manuals

- Experience working with multiple aircraft programs and government representatives

- Experience interfacing/briefing pilots and System Program Office (SPO) level management

- Experience working with Major Command (MAJCOM) functional managers and experience in aircraft Customer Support functions

- Experience developing professional presentations and presenting information to audiences at all levels

- Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint experience

Desired skills
- Rated Pilot, F-16 rating is a plus

- Mishap investigation experience

- Understanding of the F-16 maintenance technical order change process

- Experience working with ACROBAT Adobe Pro

-Experience interfacing with civilian government, DoD, and industry representatives.

-Exceptional interpersonal skills and must be able to work well in a team environment.

-Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills
