EW Training & Education Research Associate -- ELSYS


Job Description

The Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) Test Engineering Division (TEN) is currently seeking an Electronic Warfare (EW) Training & Education Research Associate for a full time research faculty position. TEN develops Hardware in the Loop (HITL) test sets, test tools, analysis tools and test methods for US Air Force, Army, Navy and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) sponsors. TEN also develops and conducts EW training for the USAF Air Force Security Assistance Training (AFSAT) Squadron in San Antonio, TX. GTRI supports AFSAT provided EW instruction and courses to U.S. FMS partner nation military personnel. This is a remote position.


  • Develop and maintain a Learning Management System (LMS) at the EW training facility
  • Schedule and track classroom activities, course module delivery, and curriculum development
  • Track and report student progress to sponsor
  • Coordinate Foreign Disclosure Office (FDO) review and approval of courses and modules with AFSAT
  • Collaborate with the GTRI project management team and GTRI San Antonio Site Lead
  • Conduct monthly program reporting, financial management and tracking

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate I

  • A Bachelor's degree in Management, Operations, Business, Data Analysis or Mathematics.

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate II

  • A Masters degree in Management, Operations, Business, Data Analysis or Mathematics and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Masters degree in Management, Operations, Business, Data Analysis or Mathematics and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelors degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Management, Operations, Business, Data Analysis or Mathematics.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Electronic Warfare (EW)
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems
  • Experience with Export Control Compliance
  • Experience with DoD Security compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing, coordinating, managing and scheduling EW courses
  • Operational U.S. military experience on U.S. platforms (aircraft, ground vehicles, and/or ships) with EW systems
  • Experience supporting multi-million dollar EW programs, operations, maintenance, and training budget

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
