We have multiple openings for Ergonomic Specialists. You will provide field support services and apply complex ergonomic concepts in a variety of work environments to support employees in office and non-office settings to mitigate ergonomic risk factors and prevent injuries. This position is in the Environment Safety and Health Directorate.

Essential Duties
- Independently perform ergonomic assessments and job site evaluations of complex office and non-office situations involving individuals and work groups under the general direction of the Ergonomic Program Leader. Identify ergonomic risk factors and recommend improvements for appropriate designs or solutions.
- Utilize applicable exposure assessment tools including analytical equipment (i.e. lifting equation, vibration meter, etc.) when analyzing the interaction between people and tools/machinery/equipment and compare to applicable exposure limits.
- Assess the design of products/systems to ensure that products/systems meet user needs.
- Assess the effects of work environments on employees to determine the adequacy of user performance in conducting required tasks.
- Collect, analyze, interpret data/statistics and present compiled information verbally and in writing.
- Collaborate with ES&H professionals, various programmatic ergonomic stakeholders, the institutional ergonomics subject matter expert, and Physical/Occupational Therapists.
- Assist with causal analysis efforts and offer information, advice, training and recommendations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Associate's degree in an ES&H discipline, health field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Experience providing individual and work group ergonomic consultation and intervention.
- Experience performing ergonomic assessments, job site evaluations and the application of ergonomics in both office and non-office workplace settings.
- Experience using ergonomic measuring instruments (e.g., Force Gauge, Vibration Meter).
- Knowledge of job analysis as it relates to ergonomics and the ability to integrate interventions to quantify and reduce exposures to ergonomic risks.
- Experience speaking to small and large groups effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively collaborate in a team environment, present and communicate technical information to all levels of personnel.

Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in an ES&H discipline or health related field.
- Technical excellence in ergonomics safety as demonstrated by the credential of Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) or Certified Ergonomics Associate (CEA); or equivalent certifying organization.
- Knowledge of and experience with LLNL policies and procedures.

Pre-Employment Drug Test: External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test. This includes testing for use of marijuana as Federal Law applies to us as a Federal Contractor.

Security Clearance: This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.

If you are selected, wewill initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if youmeet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. In addition, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold multiple citizenships (U.S. and another country), you may be required to renounce your non-U.S. citizenship before a DOE L or Q clearance will be processed/granted.
