The Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) Directorate is seeking a talented and driven student in the field of kinesiology, ergonomics or occupational health for an a graduate student and Bachelors and Masters recent graduates (within one year) as an ergonomist. Are you motivated to advance the health, safety, and wellness of others? Consider joining our team of passionate Ergonomists to improve the workplace and health of LLNL employees. Initial training and mentoring will be provided for interested individuals by LLNL Ergonomic Services Program.

Essential Duties
- Under limited direction and supervision of an experienced Ergonomist, conduct ergonomic evaluations and job site evaluations for a wide range of job environments and recommend inte- Under limited direction and supervision, write reports with recommendations that address ergonomic risks.
- Assist with developing programmatic/procedural documents and metrics.rventions.
- Analyze the interaction between people and tools/machinery/equipment and address identified ergonomic risks in collaboration with experienced Ergonomists and/or Ergonomic Specialists.
- Assess the design of products/systems to ensure that they meet user needs.
- Write reports with recommendations that address ergonomic risks and review with an experienced Ergonomist.
- Discuss identified solutions with employees and provide instructions on use of recommended equipment and safe work practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Must be a continuing college or university student in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing a graduate degree or a recent Bachelors or Masters graduate within one year in Kinesiology, Human Factors, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety, Ergonomics, or related field.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of job analysis tools and equipment as it relates to ergonomics.
- Personable and energetic with an ability to thrive in a human-centered environment.
- Ability to integrate interventions to quantify and reduce exposures to ergonomic risks.
- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Pre-Employment Drug Test: External applicant(s) selected for this position will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test. This includes testing for use of marijuana as Federal Law applies to us as a Federal Contractor.

Security Clearance: None required.
